One old farmhouse brought them together. It could also tear them apart.

Gigi has just uprooted her whole world to start a new life. The unexpected gift of a farmhouse in small-town Montana is just what she and her daughter need to escape big-city loneliness. The last thing she needs is attitude from the town’s sheriff, the most perfectly attractive and ruggedly handsome man she’s ever laid eyes on—and a complete jerk.

Jess knows all about women like Gigi. Beautiful. Sexy. Scheming. She’s stolen his sanctuary, the farmhouse that should have been his. But along with a face full of freckles, she’s got a sharp wit and a backbone of steel—something he doesn’t discover until after making a complete fool of himself. If he can earn back her trust and win her heart, he might just find the home he’s always needed.

My Review
Gigi (Georgia) and her young daughter, Rowen, befriend an ailing man who leaves them a farmhouse upon his passing. Hoping for a fresh start, she bundles them up and heads to Montana and is pleasantly surprised by the beauty of the old house.
Jess has been caring for the old farmhouse for years to show his gratitude to the man who took him in, and loves the place. So it’s understandable he’d be a little p o’d to learn that a scheming woman took his friend for everything he had. Then he meets Gigi and realizes he was wrong about her.
Gigi meets the sheriff and falls into instant lust, even though he’s an autocratic jerk. There’s so much HEAT between these two it BURNS up the pages!
I wanted to like this story; it has all the elements of a great romance, the strong, protective hero, and the pretty, smart heroine and a touch of suspense. The problem was that Gigi thought more like a male, (with his little head) to me.
It made me want to scream!

She’d get justifiably angry at something Jess said or did, and then in the next minute be climbing all over him like a rutting goat. It was frankly a turnoff. I like to see more depth to my characters, especially since she’d been through the same kind of relationship in the past.

The writing was strong in this book, with several lines I really liked. Here’s a couple:

You could be seriously hot on the outside but if you were nasty on the inside, all the exterior goodness disappeared.

My heart rate was already well past the elevated range. At the sheriff’s harassment, it was now thundering. There was a good chance it would sprint back to the farmhouse without me.

If you like alpha heroes and swoony females, this might be the book for you 🙂

I give The Coppersmith Farmhouse 3 lovely kisses
