They’re back!
Jake and Dodger are at it again,
accompanied by their boss, the archangel Azrael.

I am so excited, I can hardly stand it. Once again, Nicki Forde Graphics Design has come up with a cover that does exactly what I wanted it to do. It provides a great-looking image that clearly links the second novella in my Emissary series with the first one. And it does this by putting Jake’s big, red-and-white semi front and center, angel wings and all, but with a completely different background.

In The Emissary 2: To Love Somebody, Jake and Dodger travel both coasts of Florida, day and night, working their emissarial magic wherever they find souls in trouble. For me, the palm fronds over the truck, the ocean in the background, and the moon shining down are perfect.

I can’t give you an exact release date for The Emissary 2: To Love Sombody yet, as I still have a few more tiny odds and ends to finish up, including the blurb. But I’m 99.9% sure it will be available within a week or two, and I’ll have more to share with you then. In the meantime, what do you think?

Biography

Marcia

Marcia Meara is a native Floridian, and lives in Sanford, just north of Orlando, with her husband of 30+ years, four large cats, and two small dachshunds. When not working on her books and blogs, she spends her time gardening, and enjoying the surprising amount of wildlife that manages to make a home in her suburban yard.

At the age of five, Marcia declared she wanted to be an author, and is ecstatic that a mere 64 years later, she finally wrote “Wake-Robin Ridge,” her first novel. Making up for lost time, she has published five more novels and a spinoff novella over the last four years:

Her philosophy? It’s never too late to follow your dream. Just take that first step, and never look back. At age 73, when many people are slowing down, Marcia’s new career is just taking off. She plans to keep on writing until she falls face down on the keyboard, and would, in fact, consider that a pretty good way to go.

    2. Woohoo. That’s the kind of thing I LOVE to hear. So glad you enjoyed Jake, Dodger, and Azrael, and I sincerely hope To Love Somebody will please you, as well. Hoping to get it published within a week or so, and then to finish off Rabbit’s next story. After that, it’s back for Round 3 with our Emissaries, and that will wrap up this series of novellas. A print book of the whole set will follow at that point. And I’m EAGER to hear what you think when you read Part 2. 🙂 ❤ Thanks SO much for your bit champing! 😀

          My secret, but don’t tell another soul: Get up at 7:00am or so. Take dogs out. Fix cup of Earl Grey. Sit down at computer. Type. Type more. Type still more. Stop at 6:00pm or so. Fix dinner. Collapse in bed at 9:00. Do this for 7 straight days. Rinse and repeat. And repeat. And repeat. (NOTE: It helps to remind yourself throughout the day how much you love what you’re doing–and believe it.)

          That’s pretty much all it is. I hope my strength holds out, because I have a LOT of stories I want to tell before I fall face down on the keyboard. 😀 😀 😀

          1. I don’t get it. I’m up at six most days and manage to write about 1000 words before the house wakes up. After that, what with emails, chores, shopping, gardening, and personal hygiene, I don’t get enough time to write any more. On a good day, I can come up with a blog post though!
            I do love what I do, but more time would be wonderful!

      2. Oh, I’m super happy you are enjoying Rabbit’s story, Jacquie. That boy has taken up full-time residence in my brain, and spends a lot of time commenting on things he observes. Hope you enjoy the rest of the book, and will enjoy Harbinger, too. It’s his story from start to finish. In fact, he’s usurped the entire series! 😀

        If you get a chance to read the first two Emissary novellas, I hope you’ll enjoy them as well. They were SO much fun to write! 🙂

  5. Intersting, jenanita. I’d be very happy with 1,000 words a day. Sometimes I hit or exceed that, but more often it’s 500 to 800 or so. Not sure how that works out to two 400+ word novels a year, but before the hurricane, I was releasing a spring book and a fall book. Maybe I wrote more at a time in the beginning than I do now? I just know that plugging away at it the best I can is my only “secret.” And some days I get a late start due to loads and loads of email. (Anywhere from 300 to 500 a day, usually, sometimes more. Like during cover reveals, apparently. Wow. What a shock. Over 800 yesterday.)

    I do have a pretty good system of tearing through emails, though. I have files for each person I regularly communicate with, and for each group, etc. And I have files for various things I’ll look at later. I can drag and drop the less urgent things into appropriate folders to handle during the day ahead (or a bit longer for things I just want to study later). I can immediately respond to the important stuff and to my blog followers, local venues, and my readers (of course). But I don’t worry about the rest until I’ve gotten some writing done.

    Will keep you posted on how developing a marketing strategy that fits me goes. 😀 ❤
