One Month Until Christmas!
I happened to glance at the calendar today and almost had a heart attack; Christmas will be here before I know it!
I’m so ill-prepared this year. Normally, I begin shopping as early as June (I know :)) but I hate trying to come up with ideas at the last minute. There’s nothing worse than spending hard-earned cash on a gift you just know is going to end up in a corner or under a bed somewhere, right?
I considered going the gift card route- easy, safe- but my daughter would probably disown me, lol.
So this is what I’m going to do:

You start shopping in June? You and my sister would get along great. Unless something incredibly special catches my eye and I’m worried I won’t be able to get it later, I refuse to start before Thanksgiving. One holiday at a time, please. (Except for Christmas music and holiday Hallmark movies… I’ll do those all year long.)
Without knowing who you’re shopping for, I’ll suggest my favorite fallback: food. Choose things that your recipients love and make custom baskets for them. You can get inexpensive baskets, bowls, or trays at dollar stores. Or you can buy these gifts ready-made, but that seems less personal (and there’s always something in them the recipient won’t want). If you’re shopping for someone who likes to cook or bake, you can even add recipe cards.

That’s a great idea, Staci. I’ve purchased gift baskets before, but wanted to go with ideas more suited to my family this year. Personal baskets with recipe cards is perfect!
