New York Times bestselling author Laura Griffin “delivers another top-notch thriller” (RT Book Reviews) in her beloved Tracers series, about a leading forensic anthropologist who uncovers eerie clues in a high-stakes case that threatens to deliver her to the doorstep of a cold-blooded murderer.

When local rock climbers stumble upon abandoned human bones in a remote Texas gorge, Sara Lockhart is the first to get the call. She has a reputation as one of the nation’s top forensic anthropologists, and police detective Nolan Hess knows she is just the expert he needs to help unravel this case. Although evidence is scarce, Nolan suspects the bones belong to a teenage climber who vanished last summer.

But as Sara unearths strange clues, she finds chilling similarities to a case from her past—a case that now threatens to rock Nolan’s community. While Sara digs deep for answers, the stakes rise higher as another young woman disappears without a trace. Investigators work against the clock as Sara races to discover the truth, even if her harrowing search brings her face to face with a stone-cold killer.

With her signature breathless pacing and suspenseful twists and turns, Stone Cold Heart demonstrates why “Laura Griffin never fails to put me on the edge of my seat” (USA TODAY).

My Review

A chilling trail of murder by a stone cold killer!

When forensic anthropologist Sara Lockhart is called out to a remote Texas gorge to investigate a burial site- little does she know it’s only the beginning of a much bigger story.

A serial killer is on the loose and he’s using Detective Nolan Hess’s community for his dumping site. He trusts Sara to uncover the evidence he needs to capture this predator, but can she do it before he strikes again?

Sara is impressed by Nolan’s dedication and deep ties to the town he protects, but their undeniable attraction to each other is a complication. She’s been hurt before and is unwilling to invest in a relationship again- besides, the timing is all wrong.

Nolan is overworked, tired, frustrated, and fast falling for the smart, sexy anthropologist. Will these two be able to work out their differences, or will a killer make the decision for them?

This book kept me on the edge of my seat! Occasional passages by a victim fighting to survive amp up the tension and had me praying right along with her. I guessed early on who the perp was, but then the author did a superb job of throwing out false leads that I changed my mind like five times, lol.

I give Stone Cold Heart five lovely kisses- Read The Tracer Series!

    1. I’ve learned a lot about forensics and police procedures from her series. She doesn’t gloss over the information, but it fits perfectly into the storyline.
I think you’d enjoy her Tracer series, Robbie.
