Shades of Gray- #SundayStills #PhotographyChallenge

This week’s Sunday Stills Challenge is the theme of GRAY. Stop by and check out Terri Webster Schrandt’s blog here to join in the challenge.

May is full of bright, beautiful color in my part of the world, but it can be moody at times, as well. (Kind of like me, lol)

The photo above is from a drive Mom and I went on last week. We’re under lockdown on the island and must stick to our health zones. Luckily, the views are so gorgeous, we don’t have to go far to feel the stress peel away!

I’m fascinated by dandelions. They are unique, beautiful, plentiful, and full of health benefits.

Gray at the crosswalk going for our immunization shots- yay!

Gray driftwood on a gray sand beach.

Different textures of gray poking in amongst the color of our spring garden. We have a small RV lot, but make use of every inch!

Harley soaking up the sun on the gray kayak against a cedar fence.

All theory, dear friend, is gray, but the golden tree of life springs ever green.

    1. Have you had yours, Jill? I had a sore arm overnight, and now, a week later, the lymph nodes under my arm are tender, but otherwise it turned out well. Mom had no reaction at all 🙂

  1. Beautiful choices Jacqui. I love the mountains in the background of the beach photo. and I love the dandelion too…my daughters used to call them wishy flowers.

  2. A captivating study of grey, Jacquie! 😀 I’m smiling how you capture the grey en route to your jab … definitely a moment to celebrate! Your views are stunning even during lockdown and hope you can travel further afield soon. As for the dandelion… wow! An amazing photo and a tribute to this humble flower which is cast aside as a weed! Wishing you a lovely week and enjoy all those beautiful walks. Xx

    1. Thank you, Annika. We’ve been relatively lucky here- our Covid numbers aren’t as high as some parts of Canada, but it’s best to stay safe and stick close to home. We’ve been busy in the garden anyway, so it works fine for us 🙂

  3. Good to hear your part of Canada is better than some other areas, Jacquie! Yes, we still have to stay safe even though our CDC announced easing the restrictions. The California state has its own guideline and still requires to wear masks. I’m going to wear it for a long while because my immune system is low. I love your garden and your flowers are so beautiful! 🙂

  5. Hi Jacquie, I love all your colors highlighted by the grays. Your dandelion is so perfect. For Mother’s Day, I did a post on the Allure of Dandelions and the beauty of aging, and learned that they are very healthy. I knew people ate them, but I didn’t realize they had so many nutrients. I’m glad you got your shots and didn’t have too much trouble with them. Most people I’ve known have had sore arms, but not too much after that. I got a little ill after the second one, but it only lasted a little over a day. It’s well worth having our freedom back and feeling safe about it. 🙂 Have a great rest of the week. 🙂

    1. I hadn’t realized how healthy dandelions were, either, until I read about them on Sally Cronin’s wonderful blog, Smorgasbord.
I had a tender arm for a day or two after my shot, and about a week later the lymph nodes under my arm became quite tender. Other than that, it went much better than I expected. The nurse had to talk me off the ledge before she could give me a poke, lol
