Summertime Outdoor Fun- #SundayStills #Photography #Nature

The Sunday Still Challenge hosted by Terri Webster Schrandt is The Great Outdoors. You can see Terri’s photos and join into the challenge here.

The photo above is from the coast of Newfoundland and was originally a video of a whale breaching near the shoreline!

Our main outdoor activity is gardening and reaping the rewards in fresh fruit and vegetables.

The glory of gardening: hands in the dirt, head in the sun, heart with nature. To nurture a garden is to feed not just the body, but the soul.

Alfred Austin

There are many wonderful hiking trails on Vancouver Island with spectacular views.

There’s fun water activities, too.

And then there’s my flowers. Hubby says tending the garden is one step closer to God’s heart. I agree. The natural beauty of plants and trees fill my soul with contentment. Sharing for Cees’ Flower of the Day.

“Life is full of beauty. Notice it. Notice the bumble bee, the small child, and the smiling faces. Smell the rain, and feel the wind. Live your life to the fullest potential, and fight for your dreams.”

  1. You really know how to make good use of the outdoors and savor the moments you have, Jacquie! Wonderful garden bounties, wow! We have a farmers market 4 miles away on Thursdays and I’ve loaded up so far on apricots, apples and cherries and fresh eggs! Yum! Your husband has the right idea with his quote–you should really quote him! And I really love your Painnt pic of Vancouver Island you shared! Gorgeous. My Half-Dome pic was Painnted, too! Have a great week and stay cool!

    1. We have apricot, cherry, and apple trees. I can’t wait until they start really producing! They say it takes between 3-5 years, so, just in time for retirement, lol.
Yes, it’s unbearable here, +35 today, but I’m not complaining, many have it worse. Inland BC is calling for +50 with the humidex in the next couple of days!

  2. Beautiful photos, Jacquie. Are you guys affected by the heat wave? It’s a weird year. Our temps for the week are forecast to be mostly in the 80s. Very unusual for late June, but we’ll take it.

  3. Gorgeous outdoor photos, Jacquie. I wish we could travel and visit Vancouver Island. Perhaps someday, when the pandemic is over. I love fruits and I like all the fruits you show in your photos. You have a lovely life where you are.
