Will a Christmas wish bring two lonely hearts together and give a little girl the family she’s always wanted?

Single parent, Grace Donovan arrives in the small town of Emerson with the hope a trial program at the local cancer clinic will be the answer to prolonging her young daughter’s life. She doesn’t expect to fall for her handsome boss.

As principal of Emerson Elementary, Kyle Roberts is aware of the students’ medical issues and his heart goes out to little Cassie Donovan and her mother. When he learns Grace needs a job, he fabricates a childcare program, and is pleasantly surprised by its success. Now, if only he could help Cassie’s recovery and get Grace to give him a chance before she learns of his duplicity.

Cassie Donovan barely remembers the father who died when she was just a toddler, but she does know her mother is sad. Even though Cassie wants a puppy more than anything, she gives up her wish to ask for a daddy from Santa Claus, that way if she gets sick again, Mommy won’t be alone.

This Christmas, two families are brought together by a Christmas wish and a child’s need for a miracle.

I really enjoyed this beautiful and heartwarming romance for the holidays (or every day).

Sharon- Goodreads Reviewer

I liked this sweet, clean Christmas romance about the widowed mom of a juvenile leukemia victim and the principle of her daughter’s new school. It’s full of puppies and sleigh rides and letters to Santa and the hope for a better tomorrow that Christmas brings.

Book Trailer- Love, Me- A Christmas Wish Novel

Exclusive Excerpt

Cass step-glided around the outside edge of the skating rink, sticking close enough to the rails to save herself if she tripped, and far enough away the more experienced kids in their group couldn’t mock her. She kind of wished they would leave so Avery and Thomas would pay more attention to her. They were way ahead of her now, laughing and chattering without a care in the world. She knew Avery wasn’t doing it on purpose, it was that dumb old Jessica. She looked like a doll in her skating costume and had been quick to brag she was in figure skating classes—of course, she was—and the star of the Christmas pageant. It wasn’t that Cass was jealous—though the hard ball in her stomach said otherwise—it was just girls like Jessica made her mad. They had everything. Friends. Family.

Health.

Much as Cass tried to act like everything was all right for her mom’s sake, inside she was scared. Some of the kids in hospital were sick, like really sick, and their parents seemed so sad. She didn’t want that for her mom. And if she didn’t make it, then what? Did she just go to sleep and never wake up? Did angels come and take her away, like Daddy? She’d seen the angel that day. Her dad was sleeping on the couch when she came. First there was a brilliant white light. It filled the room and hurt Cass’s eyes. But then a lady appeared from right out of the ceiling. She had fluffy wings and a kind smile. Instead of being frightened, Cass smiled back. She tried to stay awake and see what the pretty lady wanted, but her eyes grew heavy. When she woke up, her mom was there with tears streaking her cheeks and Cass had known—her dad was gone.

It took a long time for Mommy to laugh like she did with Mr. Roberts. Cass didn’t want to be the reason her mom quit. Which meant she had to get better. She had to.

“Hey, new girl,” Jessica called, sidling up beside her like they were fast friends. “Haven’t you skated before?”

Cass refused to let Jessica rile her, and kept her gaze focused straight ahead. “Yes, but not for a long time. I’m just being careful.” So go away.

“You need to take longer strides. Sweep your feet, like this, see?” Jessica took off, her swirly skirt shimmering under the big round dome hanging from the center of the rink. Cass had to give her credit; she did seem like she knew what she was doing. Her feet kind of hop-skipped over the ice, then she gave a quick twist to her legs and came to a skidding stop, a smug grin on her lips.

“Your turn,” she yelled, catching the attention of Avery, Thomas, and all the other kids in their group.

Great, now she didn’t have a choice. If she didn’t want to look like a dork, Cass was going to have to perform a maneuver at least as good as Jessica’s. She hadn’t lied, she used to skate back before… but her legs were weaker now—so was her confidence.

There was only one thing to do.

Closing her eyes, Cassie sent up a silent prayer she could pull this off. Then she opened her eyes, and with single-minded determination, gritted her teeth and pushed off with her back foot. One step, two steps, her stride lengthened and before long she was gliding. Right past a glowering Jessica. Around Avery and a stunned-looking Thomas. Faster and faster, she went until the rail was little more than a blur. Maybe she wasn’t a fancy figure skater like Jessica, but Cass wasn’t a quitter. Giving up meant defeat and in her case, that was non-negotiable. There was too much riding on the outcome.

    1. Thank you, Denise! Sorry for the late replies. BC is under emergency status right now. We have major flooding and mudslides. Hubby is caught on the other side of the Malahat (a mountain pass separating the South Island from the North) and can’t get home!

        1. A workmate was kind enough to offer him a place to stay and our power came back just as the winds picked up, cooling the RV down quickly. We’re lucky compared to Merritt, the entire city is under evacuation orders!

  1. Congratulations, Jacquie, on your latest baby. This story has Lifetime or Hallmark written all over it. (I mean that as a compliment.)
