There’s been a lot of talk in recent months about the Kindle Select program and it’s perceived problems for authors.
I’ve entered the three-month term that KDP requires–which basically means you can’t place your ebook for sale with any other vendors during the time you’re in the select program–for each of my novels I’ve published, and I have to say I don’t regret it at all.
Thanks to the KU-Koll and the newly developed KENP (Kindle Edition Normalized Pages Read) my books are finding their way into readers hands, and I’m even getting some fans!
As a new indie author, this means so much in terms of developing confidence in what I’m writing and discoverability for new-to-me-readers. Many rumors abound about Amazon and their so-called goal to take over the world.
So far as I’m concerned Amazon has always been a readers best friend and we, as authors, would be stupid not to realize that fact and embrace it, because they aren’t going anywhere.
I have a Kindle countdown deal running right now on my latest release, Twilight’s Encore. I hope you’ll consider trying this new author out and posting a review to share your experience with the book.
Thank you, and I hope you’re finding some great books this summer,
Jacquie Biggar
Third in the Wounded Hearts series
TWILIGHT’S ENCORE
by JACQUIE BIGGAR
Ty Garrett loved Katy Fowler from the first moment he saw her. When
circumstances yank the young couple apart, Ty becomes angry and bitter.
Years later Katy returns to Tidal Falls to get married in her family’s
theatre, not expecting to run into Ty Garrett, the boy she’d never
forgotten. And worse than that, he is the man she needs to help
prepare the Twilight theatre for her upcoming wedding.
When a series of sabotages wreak havoc on the theatre and danger threatens
Katy’s life, can Ty save her and win back her love, or is it too late for these star-crossed lovers?
EXCERPT:
“Ty, I didn’t expect to see you here. That’s twice today. I’d almost think you had it planned.” Her steps faltered when she realized just where he was standing—in front of the condom section. She flapped a hand in front of her face, a futile attempt to calm her racing pulse and pink cheeks.
He eyed her embarrassment for an amused moment before leaning over and deliberately picking up a box of extra large—in his dreams—glow in the dark—really?—contraceptives. “Funny, that’s what I was going to say.” He dropped the box into the half-full basket he carried in one hand. “After all, sugar, I was here first.”
Her gaze helplessly followed the carton of Trojans. They landed on top of three cans of kitten food, various colorful toys, and some litter. Katy reached into the basket and plucked out a toy mouse. “Unless you’re into some kinky activities, Garrett, your cover is blown.” She pointed toward the shelves behind him filled with pet supplies.
He shrugged. “You’re the one who leapt to conclusions.”
She didn’t think he was talking about condoms.
