Stormy Skies- #SundayStills #Photography

We’ve been having some spring-like days here in the Pacific Northwest. The crocuses, daffodils, and cherry blossoms are open!

The photo above was taken on a stormy day at Esquimalt Lagoon.

Sunday Coffee Chat:

This has been a bumpy week for us. Mom had an appointment for early Wednesday morning to go to the Wound and Burn Clinic for the deep wounds in her legs, but it was canceled at the last minute leaving us hanging (and worried). Then, Friday, Sharon (the RN) called and rebooked for this coming Tuesday, but she also arranged for daily in home care instead of the three times a week Mom was getting before (again, worrying).

DH started his drive to work Friday afternoon and was turned back due to a rockslide on the Malahat! Thank goodness no one was injured.

The garden is coming to life, with new buds popping open almost every day. DH is like a kid with a new toy, lol. He’s been playing in the dirt, starting new seeds, rearranging this tree and pruning that bush. It’s a time of rebirth and we are happy 🙂

My birthday is in two weeks (the first day of spring) and I’m hoping the cherry tree will be in full bloom by then.

  5. I’ve been in my writing cave and forgot it was Sunday. Storm clouds make awesome pictures. The guy in the parasail is lucky it wasn’t lightning. I love the freighter in the background in that one. So many nice pictures here, Jacquie.

  6. The Pacific Northwest is a great place for rainfall. That’s one of the reasons I moved away, not for the rain so much as for the never-ending grey skies of winter!

  8. First of all, high five for combining several photo challenges into one post–a blogger after my own heart, LOL! Lovely rainy shots, and excellent job on that hydrangea close-up, Jacquie! I love that old nursery rhyme–my grandpa who snored loved to recite that to us kids all the time! that kiteboarder is doing what they do, testing the wind and going for it!

  12. I’m not sure I could deal with the gray skies for much of the year out there. I live in the Sunshine state for a reason, although I wouldn’t mind Hawaii where all the elements are there and it isn’t as hot as Florida. Nice photos and really great one of the rainbow. 🙂 I will say some prayers for you and your mom. 🙂

    1. Thank you, Lisa. Yes, the gray skies can be depressing, but then I open my weather app and see that my hometown is suffering through -40 weather and the gray suddenly looks much brighter, lol

  17. I don’t go out too much during stormy days so I don’t have too many thundery or rainy photos, but your are great, Jacquie! Yes, kids don’t mind getting wet. My granddaughter ride her bike and intentionally rode over all the puddles! I remember “It’s raining…”
