My 2021 #Writing and #Reading Wrap-up

That’s my inner wild child above. In reality, we were tucked away between the covers by 9pm, lol

I’ve seen a few wrap-up posts around the blogging sphere and thought it would be a good idea to do the same- maybe it will motivate me for 2022!

Writing Wrap-up

It was a middle of the road year for writing. I started out well, but somehow lost momentum and basically petered out by the time autumn rolled around.

I began the year with a plan to add to my Wounded Hearts series and managed two new books bringing the total to 8 plus a short story, so far.

Then I met a young girl fighting cancer on Instagram. Her bravery and infectious spirit inspired me to write a holiday story based on a young widow and her seriously ill child.

And finally, I ended the year with a short story set in my Gambling Hearts world where the matriarch of the family returns to earth in time to save a lost child.

As well, I participated in two box sets with talented writers from the Authors’ Billboard group.

So far for 2022, I’m working on a thriller about a young boy who grows into a serial killer, and a YA centered around two estranged sisters who lost their father to suicide and later, their mother to depression. (Not exactly upbeat reading, I know, lol). I’ve decided to slow down and enjoy the process instead of racing to the finish line. I hope it will produce deeper, more meaningful, books but we shall see. I’m definitely my own worst critic!

  3. Jacquie, I’d say you had a banner year with writing—and reading! That’s a lot of books on both fronts!
