7 Signs Spring is Here: #NewRelease #Ilovespring #mgtab

Do you love spring?

It’s my favorite time of the year. I don’t notice it as much now that we’re on the island, but growing up spring was a really big deal.

In Alberta there is a standing joke that we have two seasons: Winter, and almost winter.

Generally, if we made it through September without snow it was reason to celebrate. And then we would spend the next eight months or so anxiously waiting the uncertain weather that came with spring.

Our igloo 🙂 And yes, that is a bench buried under about three feet of the white stuff.

Needless to say, by the time April rolled around we were more than ready for the showers!

I thought it would be fun to list my favorite ways to tell spring is here.

  • Robins show up with their bright red chests pointed to the sun.

  • Crocus poke their gorgeous purple hearts out of the snow.

  • The bicycles come out.

  • Kids play in the mud.

  • Fancy cars start cruising the streets.

  • The trees don their spring coats.

  • Dusk lasts longer than a blink.

What about you? Do you have a favorite season? Why?

I have three new releases coming in the next month that I would like to share with you. I hope you’ll consider giving them a try!

The Guardian – Book 1 of Mended Souls

Lucas Carmichael and Scott Anderson had it all, money, fame, and fortune. But one night’s stupid mistake takes everything they thought they cherished and dumps it upside down.

A car accident ends Lucas’ life and leaves Scott injured and bitter.

As the local ME, Tracy York, investigates the case, discrepancies begin to point to more than a simple drunk driving incident. When threats are made to Tracy’s life can Scott and his guardian angel, Lucas, protect her, or will she become another casualty?

    1. It’s a feel good time of year 🙂

  2. Pat Amsden says:

I love your signs of spring and I love living on the west coast. I will say, though, that when you live in a cold climate such as Alberta that first spring weekend when the temperatures soar, the sun shines brightly, and any snow on the ground is melting madly, are especially sweet.

    1. I agree. I remember one long weekend in May a few years ago. It was an early spring, gorgeous blue skies, warm temperatures, and we couldn’t wait to go quadding. Friday and Saturday were great. Sunday we woke up to over a foot of snow and had treacherous roads the whole way home! Fun experience though, lol

  3. Really nice post Jacquie. One of my favourite signs of spring is The sun! Just joking ( sort of). But I love hearing the Red Wing Blackbirds raucus call. To me that means spring.

    1. I’ve been looking for them, haven’t seen any so far. You have so many wonderful species of birds on the island 🙂 One that I miss from home is the bluejay. We had flocks of them around our house, noisy but beautiful!
