The SEAL’s Temptation is on sale!
I’m running a stacked promotion this weekend starting with BookZio, eBook Daily, Bookbub, and ending with Book Gorilla. I’m also sending out a newsletter Sunday (if you have any sales let me know in the comments and I’ll add them in) and thought a post here might help 🙂
This is book 7 in an eight-book- so far- series titled Wounded Hearts. There is an overarching storyline throughout the books, but each can be read as a standalone.
Description
DEA Agent Maggie Holt knows what Hell is like…
After eighteen months undercover in a Mexican cartel, Maggie is broken. The kickass agent she once was, is gone, leaving her riddled with guilt and nightmares. Forced to take paid leave, Maggie accepts the offer of a vacation on the ranch of the man who’d rescued her from an almost certain death.
Frank Stein knows the signs of PTSD, he’s suffered the symptoms himself as Chief Petty Officer of SEAL Team Five. Honorably discharged from duty, Frank has found peace at the family ranch and hopes it will do the same for Magdalena. Ever since he’d first met her when she was interrogating his buddy, Jared, Frank has been fascinated by the raven-haired beauty and wants the chance to see where their relationship could go.
Adam O’Connor is Maggie’s partner. He knows her. He loved her once and could again, if she’d let him in. But he’s also angry she took the chances she did by going undercover against orders. And now, things are different. She’s different.
When a right-wing militia group infiltrates the area, will DEA Agent Maggie Holt, her partner, Adam O’Connor, and ex-SEAL Chief Frank Stein be able to set aside their differences to stop them before someone dies? And who will Maggie choose, the handsome cowboy, or her charismatic DEA partner?

Excerpt from The SEAL’s Temptation
Frank held half a turkey sandwich, his mood melancholy as he gazed over the land his family had lived, loved, and worked for generations. There’d been many challenges over the years, from droughts to floods and everything in between. There was even a memorable occasion when the famed frontiersman Davy Crockett and his volunteer unit stopped at the ranch for a warm night’s sleep and a hot meal during the winter of 1835 on their way to an ill-fated siege at the Alamo mission.
“You going to eat the rest of that?” Jared asked.
“Are you kidding me?” Adam grouched.
“What? I’m hungry.” Jared, again.
“Why didn’t you eat breakfast, then?”
“I wasn’t hungry, then. I’m hungry now. Besides, by the time you filled your plate, there was nothing left for anyone else.”
Frank turned away from the peaceful view and eyed his friends. “You two sure you’re not a couple?” He tossed his lunch bag across the grass in their direction. “Have mine. I’m not eating anyway.”
Jared started to reach for the bag until Adam nudged him in the ribs. “Ow,” he cried, rubbing the spot as though he’d been mortally wounded. “What did you do that for?”
“Because you’re an idiot, that’s why.” Adam gave him a disgusted look. He took a drink from his tin coffee cup and lifted his chin toward the far range. “How much land do you have out here, Frank?”
“Hey, that’s Chief to you, bozo,” Jared said, diving into the lunch bag and coming up with a bright red apple.
“Almost a thousand acres with eight hundred head of cattle. It’s a full-time job.” And it’s in my blood. Frank found it hard to reconcile the kid who’d run off to join the navy with the person he’d been when he came out of the teams. If he’d learned anything overseas, it was to value the things that mattered, like peace and serenity. His gaze settled on each of his SEAL brothers—his family. Without their loyalty and strength, he wouldn’t be here.
“Shit, no wonder you look grumpy,” Jared muttered around the fruit in his mouth. He held up his hand before Adam could elbow him again. “I’m kidding, jeez. Where did your sense of humor go, O’Connor? If that’s what it takes to become a DEA agent, leave me out.”
“Not a problem,” Adam said complacently. “They only allow people with high IQs into the organization.” He grinned as Jared sputtered. “Besides, you have a wife and kids to worry about. You wouldn’t be happy traipsing all over the country.”
“True that,” Jared agreed. “What about you, Frank? Do you miss the thrill of the chase?”
Did he? Traipsing through rat-infested jungles, spitting dust in the desert, HALO jumping in the thick of night… Sure, he missed the adrenaline rush. But the other side of that coin was facing their mortality. Kill or be killed; a phantom following every op, but they trained for it. Too bad it wasn’t as easy to rid themselves of the nightmares. PTSD—painful, tortured suck-ass dreams—or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, as his psychiatrist termed it. Frank called it the end of his career.
“Nah, this place keeps me going. That shit is for the young guys, ones with something to prove. I did my time.”
“Hell, yeah. You saved our asses more often than I could count,” Jared said. He held his arms out. “Want to bring it in for a hug, guys?”
I love the relationship between these guys, lol. The SEAL’s Temptation is $.99 for a limited time.
If you’ve read the book, I’d deeply appreciate an honest review on your preferred sales site- thank you!
Happy long weekend everyone!

Thanks for the introduction and the beautiful review, Jacquie! I find it interesting how PTSD is taking part under the cover. Best wishes, Michael

I was in a serious car accident a few years ago and it took me a long time to go through intersections without flinching. Nothing as bad as my characters have been through but I can relate to their anxiety.
Thanks for stopping by, Michael. Have a wonderful weekend!

Hi, John, thank you. It’s almost as hard to promote a book as it is to write one, lol.
How are you holding up in that horrible heatwave?
