Lieutenant Eve Dallas tails a serial killer who has a passion for the “Twelve Days of Christmas” in this novel in the #1 New York Times bestselling In Death series.
No one likes to be alone during the holidays. For New York’s most posh dating service, Personally Yours, it is the season to bring lonely hearts together. But Lieutenant Eve Dallas, on the trail of a ritualistic serial killer who likes to dress up as Santa Claus, has made a disturbing discovery: all of the victims have been traced to Personally Yours. As the murders continue, Eve enters into an elite world of people searching for their one true love. A world where the power of love leads men and women into the ultimate act of betrayal…

J.D. Robb is the author of the #1 New York Times bestselling In Death series and the pseudonym for #1 New York Times bestselling author Nora Roberts. The futuristic suspense series stars Eve Dallas, a New York City police lieutenant with a dark past. Initially conceived as a trilogy, readers clamored for more of Eve and the mysterious Roarke. Leverage in Death, on sale Septenber 2018, is the 47th entry in the series.

Santa is on the warpath in this holiday who-done-it by New York Times bestselling author J.D. Robb.
Lieutenant Eve Dallas faces one of her toughest assignments as a sadistic killer haunts the city dressed as Santa Claus. His calling card: expensive tokens depicting the Twelve Days of Christmas.
Eve has to track a monster terrorizing the patrons of a dating service while trying to block the memories of her own childhood. Thankfully, she has the support of her incredibly talented and sexy husband, Roarke.
This story deals with some tough issues, but adds to the depth of Eve’s character and her relationships on the police force. She often comes across as brash, but underneath, in a place she usually only lets Roarke see, she’s still the abused, lonely little girl who killed her father to survive.
I give Holiday in Death 5 lovely kisses- A must read!

Santa on the warpath? Oh you know I’m hooked. Thanks for the review, Jacquie. Best to J.D. Hugs all around!

She’s an amazing writing, Robbie. Highly recommend her books.
By the way, this post was done with the new editor. I like the drop caps option, but won’t use the caption under a picture again. Still learning 🙂

I’m kind of a sucker for serial killer stories. Throw in a Christmas hook? Sounds like a winner. (Then again, most Nora Roberts/J.D. Robb titles are.)

I thought this was a perfect read for the season 🙂
She surprised me by the dark aspect of the plotline, but then, life wasn’t very pretty for poor Eve until she met Roarke.

This book sounds like a fascinating and chilling Christmas read. Poor Santa! Impersonated by a serial killer! Good luck to Robb with her book, and thanks for sharing, Jacquie.:-)

It’s so good, Jennifer! There’s something like forty books in this series but they easily read as standalones. When you give them a try let me know how you liked it 🙂

Yes, I enjoy Nora Roberts books as J.D. Robb. Not as saccharine as her romance books, and Eve and Roarke are such a good pair.

I’m the same. I’ve tried a few of her Nora Roberts books (earlier works) and while I enjoyed them, they don’t compare to the police procedural series.
Thanks for stopping by 🙂
