My Review:

This novel had so many great elements to it. I loved the characters! Lena does a twist by making the heroine quirky, yet strong and sexy too. And did I mention quirky? 🙂

Faye Star reminded me of a gypsy with her hip-long hair, flyaway skirts, and magic potions. Not to mention her equally great aptitude with a rifle or a knife!

Meanwhile Jake Young is by contrast reserved and almost staid in comparison. Yet he can’t deny his attraction for the crazy woman he’s teamed up with to lead him through the swamps in search of a missing person.

This book is in turn funny and dangerous and exciting. I loved it!!

“I’m going to release you,” he said. “But be warned. If you go for your knife it won’t end well.” She glanced longingly at the thick, six-inch blade lying on the ground a few feet away. Where she’d hidden the thing he didn’t even want to know.

He ran his hands over her silky hair and slid his fingers in it. Or at least, he tried to. Her hair felt silky, soft, but he couldn’t distinguish the individual strands like last night. And her hair was… warm? Hot breath panted against his face. A sandpapery tongue licked his neck. Jake’s eyes flew open. He stared into a pair of deep green eyes. But they weren’t Faye’s. They belonged to a black panther.
