“There is a crack in everything. That’s how the light gets in.” —Leonard Cohen
Christmas is approaching, and in Québec it’s a time of dazzling snowfalls, bright lights, and gatherings with friends in front of blazing hearths. But shadows are falling on the usually festive season for Chief Inspector Armand Gamache. Most of his best agents have left the Homicide Department, his old friend and lieutenant Jean-Guy Beauvoir hasn’t spoken to him in months, and hostile forces are lining up against him. When Gamache receives a message from Myrna Landers that a longtime friend has failed to arrive for Christmas in the village of Three Pines, he welcomes the chance to get away from the city. Mystified by Myrna’s reluctance to reveal her friend’s name, Gamache soon discovers the missing woman was once one of the most famous people not just in North America, but in the world, and now goes unrecognized by virtually everyone except the mad, brilliant poet Ruth Zardo.
As events come to a head, Gamache is drawn ever deeper into the world of Three Pines. Increasingly, he is not only investigating the disappearance of Myrna’s friend but also seeking a safe place for himself and his still-loyal colleagues. Is there peace to be found even in Three Pines, and at what cost to Gamache and the people he holds dear?
How the Light Gets In is the ninth Chief Inspector Gamache Novel from Louise Penny.

This is the continuing story of Chief Inspector Gamache and the Sureté of Montreal, Quebec. Louise Penny draws us into a world of corruption, mistrust, murder, and greed by painting scenes with amazing visuals and characterizations you won’t soon forget.
I was especially drawn to the charming village of Three Pines and the eccentric, funny, sentimental people who live there. There were many moments that left me crying (wait until you read about the duck!) and others that left me going ah…
Ms. Penny creates a thirty year old trail of deceit and murder on two different storylines that will leave the reader unable to set the book down until the very last page.
I love stories that take what you think you know and turns it on its ear. This is one of those books. I will certainly be reading more from this talented writer!
I give How The Light Gets In 5 lovely kisses! One of the best books I’ve read in a very long time!

I am so stoked, you guys! Guess who I have on the blog today? Cherry Freaking Adair!!
Cherry took time away from her crazy, busy schedule to sit down for a chat with little ol’ me 🙂 I know right? So cool!
Q: How long have you been writing, and was THE MERCENARY your first submission? Tell us a little bit about the road to your first publication?
Cherry: I was writing for a loooong time before I sold THE MERCENARY. I wrote 17 complete (and dreadful!) books before The Mercenary sold. None of those books will ever see the light of day. All were ceremoniously shredded. I considered them practice runs and the dress rehearsal for the real thing . I learned the slow way that to achieve the goal of publication one can’t rest on ones laurels and sit by the phone waiting once a book is finished and mailed to a publisher. You have to keep writing. Keep submitting. Keep getting rejected. And keep hanging tough. Writing isn’t for sissies!
Q: What inspired you to write in the first place? The Romance Suspense genre is a little hard to write for most, so what made you choose this genre?
Cherry: I’ve been writing since I was very young – young enough that I didn’t know how to write yet. I just made interesting squiggles on paper that I would then read to my mother .. Now I write what I love to read. (my handwriting and spelling haven’t improved much in the intervening years! Lol)
Q: You write strong, sexy heroes that can conquer any obstacle. Your heroines are strong too. Which gender is easier to write?
Cherry: It depends on the character. Some are harder to write than others. One thing I’ve learned over the years is that I have to know each character really well before I can write them effectively.
Q: You have a very creative talent of writing Romance Suspense plots, and the action is nearly non-stop. Where do you get your ideas?
Cherry: Everywhere. Anywhere. I constantly snip ideas from newspapers or jot down something of interest on the evening news, or even a snippet of overheard conversation. I file everything away until I might need it. Or I’ll have an image of a guy with an eye patch sailing in rough seas and suddenly want to know why he’s wearing an eye patch, and where he’s going. (Michael Wright in IN TOO DEEP !)
Q: Do you have a certain writing schedule?
Cherry: Yes. I have to. It’s a job. I can’ wait for a muse to descend. I give myself a certain amount of pages per week. When they’re done – I’m done. Unfortunately I’m a s-l-o-w writer – so something that should take me a few hours can take all day! I’m working on that one.
Q: The question that readers always wonder is what a writer does when faced with the ‘dreaded writer’s block’. What is your solution, or do you even suffer from it at any time?
Cherry: You bet! I used to panic when I stared at the blinking curser on my screen. Now I know that somehow I zigged instead of zagged in the story. For some reason I’ve taken a wrong turn and hit a brick wall. I used to freak out. I’ve now come up with a way of plotting that’s almost always prevents that happening. Whew!
Q: How about outlines? How do you create your story before starting to actually write?
Cherry: I do a detailed outline. Always! Believe me, I’ve learned by mistakes! (Okay – it took me a long time – but it finally sank in !)
Q: You’re very active (and so much fun!) on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/CherryAdairAuthor. Do any of your posters ever ask you about writing techniques, etc.? And do you give them advice?
Cherry: I mentor new writers all the time. I have a dozen Facebook groups just for them. Butt In Chair Challenge is one. Anyone is welcome to join. I ask that everyone report in once a week with their goal for the following week. I so enjoy kicking butts! lol
Q: Is there anything you would like to add, advice to readers and aspiring authors, any news to share? And Thank you, again!
Cherry: My best advice? Sit your butt down in that chair and WRITE. Give yourself a deadline to finish your book and stick to it. Read widely in your chosen genre, study your favorite authors. Attend classes and read ‘how to books’. Most of all write. As often, and as much, as you can. Then write down a career goal for yourself, with all the steps you’ll need to take to implement it.
No one said this was easy. But then what in life that’s worthwhile is?
And to my readers? Thank you from the bottom of my heart for loving my characters as much as I do. Knowing you’re out there reading what I love to write keeps me focused and hard working.

GENRE: Action Adventure
In a situation this volatile, something is bound to blow!
Three. . .
T-FLAC operative Asher Daklin is running out of time in his race to end the production and sale of the word’s most deadly explosive before a cataclysmic terrorist event occurs. This op isn’t just his last chance at redemption, it’s deeply personal. Because of him, E-1x took his brother’s life and nearly incapacitated him. Now, with the timer counting down the remaining hours, he has to go deep under cover at the home of the mastermind producing the deadly explosive and stop him. Daklin can’t allow anything, or anyone, to distract him from his mission.
Lingerie designer River Sullivan is on a mission of her own—to find her genius brother. When millions of dollars are inexplicably wired to her account she knows he’s trouble. Traveling to the small mining town of Los Santos, situated in the mountainous jungles of Cosio, she accepts the hospitality of her brother’s employer and searches for clues as to Oliver whereabouts. If only she wasn’t overcome with inappropriate lust for one of the other houseguests- a gorgeous bishop with a warriors body and laser-sharp eyes that hint at deep, dark secrets.
River and Daklin find themselves in a race against time, hampered by staggering odds and overwhelming desire. Daklin has one final, desperate chance to prove himself, keep River safe, and save the day. . .
“Ash? I–I’m in a shitload of trouble.”
Holding the cell phone to his ear, gritting his teeth against knifelike stabs biting along the nerves of his shattered tibia, T-FLAC operative Asher Daklin flung his bum leg off the coffee table. He’d never heard that tone in his brother’s voice, and he went from stupor to full alert as his defense physiology kicked into high gear. As it did when he defused an explosive, his pulse slowed and his focus became pinpoint.
Hyper-alert, his voice calm and even, he speed-limped to the front door. “Where are you?” Swinging his coat over his bare chest, he shoved his Glock 41 Gen 5 in the back of his sweatpants, then thought better of it and stuck it one of his jacket pockets. “How bad?”
By habit, his earpiece was in the bowl beside a full clip and his keys. He inserted the earpiece, then slipped the phone and clip into his other pocket. “Let me speak to your CO.” Like himself, Josh was an operative, though still a rookie, with barely a year in the field.
“I’m solo on this.”
Fuckit. A “shitload of trouble” could mean damn near anything when out in the field. Especially unsupervised. His brother could be anywhere.

It also brings him back to Sophie Kim, a beacon of light in his life . . . and the one woman he can’t have. But Forte’s success means he’s made enemies in high places. Praise for Absolute Trust:
“With an action-filled plot riddled with suspense and tension, Drake’s latest in her True Heroes series is the best one yet. Steady pacing, engaging storytelling and genuine, vulnerable characters (coupled with the endearing heroic dogs that protect and love them) make this romance shine.” ~ RT Book Reviews
Excerpt from Absolute Trust:
Between one moment and the next, he was right there next to her, kneeling so they were face to face. She let out the air in her lungs in a rush, not sure of what she wanted to do or what he was planning to do. She parted her lips but didn’t say anything, didn’t want to put another question out there for him to address before he answered the one she really wanted to know.
Because she was hoping he was here for her—not his childhood friend—but for the very adult version of her who’d been waiting for him all this time.
Faster than she could react, his lips caught hers. The contact rushed through her in a lightning shot of surprise. Years of bottled-up frustration bubbled up and she leaned into him with a soft gasp.
And then he pulled back and she was left trying to catch her breath.
Slowly, carefully, he slid his arms around her back and under her knees. He cradled her against his chest and tucked her head under his chin. Circled as she was in his embrace, he held her close. He pressed his lips against her hair.
“That was too close yesterday, Sophie.” His voice was low, gruff, and almost cracked with emotion. “The thought of losing you just about killed me.”

Thanks for joining It’s All About the Romance today, Sophie!
Did you ever think that your life would end up being in a book?
Sophie: No! Then again, I never thought I’d come that close to being blown up with a car bomb either.
What are your favorite scenes in your book: the action, the dialog or the romance?
Sophie: Ooh. Tough choice. I’ve got some good lines in dialog but I wouldn’t give up the romance for anything. ❤
What do you like to do when you are not being actively read somewhere?
Sophie: I love cooking for the people in my life. Family, friends, loved ones. I’m even coming up with recipes for healthy treats for the dogs at Hope’s Crossing Kennels.
Are you happy with the genre your writer has placed you in?
Sophie: I’m very happy with the romance aspect! The suspense part of romantic suspense definitely made things more interesting than I ever guessed my life would be, but I wouldn’t give that up either.
Do you like the way the book ended?
Sophie: Absolutely. No spoilers. 😉

The Killing Game
by The Black Rose
GENRE: Romantic Suspense
The series opens as Ives Andrich, Special Agent in Charge of the New York Division of the FBI, is confronted with investigating the woman he has waited a lifetime to find. Because of her more than accurate novel about an Italian crime lord, the Bureau, against Ives’ wishes, asks for her help in infiltrating the internal organization of the nation’s most nefarious Mafia don. When the Bureau’s plan fails, and she becomes dangerously entangled in the private life of the United States’ most wanted criminal, Ives’ tolerance for Bureau mishaps vanishes. No holds barred, he puts everything on the line to save the woman he loves in the first book in The Killing Game Series, a suspense thriller series by The Black Rose.
What was it about this woman that controlled him? The way he felt, he could betray everything. He could leave all he knew and run away with her. To hell with the investigation, the bureau would drag it out forever. To hell with the bureau, he did not need them. To hell with Luca, let him cheat as many people as he wanted. Who cared at this point? Allina was his life, and he wanted nothing more than to be with her, to make love to her; his passion for her went beyond words, as he now spoke a language only she understood.
Leaving the vulgar world behind, his actions bore out his thoughts as he laid her back against the seat, effortlessly maneuvered himself on top of her, and kissed her devotedly. As he began to lower the zipper of her dress, he felt the car slow to a stop and so he zipped her back up.
The chauffeur buzzed the back telephone, which he ignored until it buzzed again. Maddened by the interruption, he pushed back a side panel and tore the phone from its holder.
“Not now! Drive!” he insisted, then he slammed the telephone back on the hook.
Without bothering to close the panel, he felt the car start to move again, and he sighed as he continued his pursuit of her love. No time remained for romantic words or prolonged actions. He needed to make love to her before his agents stopped the car and took her away from him for their mock questioning.
Why he ever agreed to these tactics, he did not know. He did not know when he would touch her again, or if she would let him, once she found out the truth. He longed to tell her what was going to happen, but he could not. His position’s responsibility immersed him in the case’s confusion, and he could not find the words to make sense of it all. Making love to her was all that mattered now, all that made sense to him anymore, all that was real.
He wanted one last reckless moment as that publisher from Manhattan whom she loved. He wanted to love her as Ives Andrich, the man she believed she had coincidentally met on a flight from Phoenix. He wanted to love her as the man he wished he was.

Title: Alpha Lover (Book 3 in the Alpha Council Chronicles series)
Author: Brenda Sparks
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Starved for blood, vampire, Nicholai Peterhof is greatly relieved when two tourists, in Russia for the Christmas holiday, decide to grace his restaurant, but one sip from the pretty brunette and his world is forever turned upside down. Juliette Staint-John is everything he could have asked for in a heartmate; pretty, smart, built with curves in all the right places…and totally unavailable.
Juliette doesn’t want anything to do with the handsome, young-looking Nicholai. As if their differences aren’t enough, the acute grief over the loss of loved ones keeps her heart guarded. He may be her fantasy, but that’s all he can ever be.
To get past Juliette’s defenses and in order to keep her safe, Nicholai must prove himself worthy of her love and trust. Unbeknownst to the couple, her personal demons are not the only ones threatening their relationship. Hiding virtually unseen by the vampires, Demon Royalty plots to destroy not only the couple but the entire vampire breed. Luckily, Nicholai will do anything for Juliette—even if it means sacrificing himself.
She had only a second to realize Nicholai stood in the doorway before Desmond’s powerful thighs brought him to the door in a single bound.
He grabbed Nicholai’s shirt with one hand, his other made a fist that landed squarely on Nicholai’s jaw.
Nicholai’s head snapped back. Shock took his face. With a mighty push, Nicholai threw Desmond backward across the room into one of the flowery couches. It moved under his weight, crashed into the end table, and the Tiffany lamp tumbled to the floor.
Julie’s eyes went wide. The two men became a blur of motion, bodies flying apart then back together. She had to concentrate to make out the shapes of hard forms in the powerful whirlwind.
Connor pulled, lunging at the whirling mass. His deep growls and barks added to the chaos as the two males swirled around the living room. They spun around the room like a tornado, moving so fast Juliette’s eyes did not register their kicks and punches. However, she heard bones crunch and the slap of skin while the two exchanged blows.
The furniture that exploded when the blurry mass neared evidenced the fierceness of their battle. Julie watched one piece of furniture after the next burst into pieces. First her delicate coffee table, next the end table where the Tiffany lamp had been, then the rocking chair. When the mass moved toward the antique credenza, Juliette screamed.
Her beautiful roses sprayed about the room. Red petals floated slowly to the floor in surreal contrast.

Are you ready to dive into a good book and forget about all the holiday stress?
My donation to the giveaway is an e-copy of my upcoming thriller, The Beast Within, which releases January 10/17!
Here’s a short excerpt where news reporter, Julie Crenshaw is left with a moral dilemma, her job or possible lives lost?
“Have you talked to your cop boyfriend about any of this?”
His glance made her uncomfortable. She swiped her cup out from beside his elbow before he bumped it to the floor, and strode to the single cup brewer she’d treated herself to when she got the job offer.
“He’s not my boyfriend, and no, I haven’t. Yet.”
Ron stood and moved to her side, towering at least six inches over her head. If he were into intimidation his linebacker body, tattooed arms, and enigmatic eyes would deter most people, but she knew he wasn’t like that. For all his cynicism, Ron was a good guy.
“You can’t, Jules.”
She stiffened. Her nickname on another man’s lips instead of Mike’s still had the power to bring her to her knees.
“This story could be our big break,” he carried on, unaware he’d just set off a bomb in her heart. “Look, I’m not saying we don’t tell your… friend. I’m just saying we could pick the time.”
He wanted her to sit on what could be the story of a lifetime. But if she did, and someone else died…
What was she going to do?

“Flaming hot sports romance with a dash of Desperate Housewives–Roemer and Rose truly delight!” ~USA Today Bestselling Author Lee Savino
He caught her wrist as she moved out of his personal space. He had fast reflexes for a guy who had just been struggling to keep his hands interlaced behind his back. “Don’t stop,” he murmured, flashing that megawatt smile again.
She forced a chuckle. “Hey, I charge a lot for private lessons. That’s all you get for a freebie.”
He threw his head back and laughed, a deep rumbling sound that warmed her from the top of her head to the tips of her toes. “Well, how can I go about scheduling one of those privates?”
She looked away, stepping toward the door and forcing him to drop her wrist. “Ah, you know, check with the front desk,” she said vaguely with a laugh.
“Actually, I was hoping for your number.”
“I’m sure you were,” she said over her shoulder.
“Really? You’re just blowing me off, huh?”
She stopped and pivoted. He sounded dead sincere now, which surprised her. “Wow, yeah. About that…I’m, uh, not exactly dating right now.”
Even if I were, I’d stay way the hell away from a player like you.
Her smile wobbled. This shouldn’t be so hard.
He shoved his hands in the pockets of his gym shorts, which few men could pull off and still look manly. He nailed it. She realized with a stab of guilt he was trying to hide the bulge of his erection. “Sure, I get it. No problem.”
Had she actually hurt his feelings? Impossible. He was a player.
She hadn’t meant to be a tease. She ought to be spanked.
By him. Just before he took her hard from behind…

Lissa Pelzer is a Crime Novel and Short Story Writer.
She lives in Germany with her husband and young son.
She’s lived all over the world and is on a mission to write a crime story based in each one.
It might take a while….
Lissa stopped by the blog for a quick chat so I thought I’d tag her for an interview while I had the chance 🙂
Welcome to the blog, Lissa!
Do you have any personal heroes/heroines?
Alan Turing. He was a British computer scientist who broke the German enigma code and ended WWII by more than two years. This saved over fourteen million lives. I find this single action of one person mesmerizing. But his is a sad story, rather than becoming a hero he was prosecuted for being gay and shortly after committed suicide.
Have you had any unusual or noteworthy occupations?
At university, I worked for a surveillance firm in London, physically following people to see if they were cheating on their partners, selling company secrets, stuff like that. I once got chased off a golf course with a 9-iron after someone found me hiding in a bush. I also worked in a hostess club in Tokyo for 6-months – the less said about that, the better. But the worst job I ever had was working for a charity that called up old ladies to ask for monthly donations. It was a real rip off. People would agree to $5 a month and then the company would use that $5 to harass them on the phone to ask for $25 a month. After training, I lasted one week. I hated the idea that your $5 didn’t go to the cause you supported but to a call center company.
What was your best date ever?
I went on a week-long date to Valetta, Malta once and it has to be the best date ever. I had bought tickets and planned to go with a long-term boyfriend for Christmas but found out he was seeing someone else shortly before the time came to go. Rather than go alone, on impulse I asked a guy I liked if he felt crazy enough to take the other ticket. It was really nerve-wracking asking him and first off all he said was, ‘I’m not sure.’ Then came back 5 minutes later and said he’d consulted his friends who told him to go. It was an incredibly romantic week of exploring the city, taking swims in the cold sea and a candle lit dinner every night. True to the first date philosophy, nothing happened while we were there but once we got back…
Tell us something you are really proud of.
My husband and my son. I’m always surprised by how smart they both are. My husband is German and very tech minded and I can barely use a TV remote, so he’s my hero and my son is two and a half and already I can ask him what certain words are in German when I forget.
Can you confide something you wish you were better at?
Writing, running, snowboarding, German, waking up in the morning. Really, the list is endless.
Navy SEAL or cowboy?
Cowboy! Got to love a man who can ride and horse and look good in jeans while doing it.
Chocolate or chips?
Both. Esther Price chocolate covered Mike-Sells Potato Chips are a reason alone to go to Dayton, Ohio.
If you could have a superpower what would it be? Why?
Flight. I’m a terrible introvert and the ability to just fly away whenever a situation gets too intense is a reoccurring dream feature of mine.
Fancy restaurant or picnic?
It depends on the definition of ‘fancy’. I’ve been to a couple of very fancy restaurants that were at the same time so chilled out that I never wanted to leave. But I’ve also been to some where I skipped desert just to get out of there. I guess it depends on who’s sitting on the other side of the table or the blanket.
Beer or wine?
Again depends on the beer, the wine and the location. There’s actually something in Stuttgart, Germany called a wine walk. Basically, you buy a small glass and strap it around your neck and then walk up into the vineyards and along a hillside for about 6 miles. There are 10 stops along the way where you can get a refill of the wine growing there. Naturally, there’s a big party at the end. I highly recommend it! However, Stuttgart is also famous for having tons of street festivals and there are also tons of local beers to try. It would be rude not to give them all a go…

(M.D. Series, The Olive Kennedy)
Published by: Crimson Tree Publishing
Publication date: December 19th 2016
Genres: Adult, Fantasy, Romance
It’s Faythander’s legend of King Arthur. And it’s not for the faint of heart.
Olive Kennedy, Fairy World MD, isn’t ready to go back to work. But when her dragon stepfather shows up on her doorstep with bad news of the world-ending variety, that’s exactly what she’ll have to do. He wants her to stop the elven queen from obtaining seven weapons of King Arthur fame, and he wants her to break into a dragon’s vault to do it.
One problem. Silvestra, the silverwitch of Dragon Spine Mountain, guards the weapons. And she’s not willing to give them up. With the help of Kull, her newly reunited, half-crazed Viking boyfriend, she’s hopeful they’ll stand up against the dragon. Plus, she’ll have the help from Kull’s warrior princess sister and a professional thief.
But Olive has never had great luck. What starts as a routine quest quickly turns into a life or death fight. And one of her companions won’t make it out alive…
“I fail to see how we’re lucky. We’re trapped in an unfamiliar world with no way of returning home. The staff is gone, and I have a suspicion that if we find it, we will not live long enough to return it to the sky king.”
Maveryck gave me a condescending smile. “Perhaps you will not live long enough,” he said as he stood, and without further explanation, he limped away from me and down a narrow hallway. I hesitated before following him. Navigating alone through a tomb like this would be suicide, so I reluctantly trailed him, barely keeping my temper in check.
“Where are you going?” I demanded.
“To find a way out of here.”
“What then?” I asked. “Where will we go? How will we find the staff? How will we return home? Have you the magic to create portals?”
He rounded on me, his jaw clenched. “First, and listen very clearly, I’m not in the habit of answering questions—not from you or anyone else. Second, I’m not your friend, nor am I trying to help you. For the time being, we share the same goal, so I will work with you in order to bring the staff back. After that, our partnership will be dissolved. I’ve never lost an object before, and it won’t happen now. If you impede me in any way, I will aid you no more.”
“Have you forgotten who my brother is? Should you return to Faythander without me, what do you think the king will do to you?”
“I don’t care.”
“You might care when you’re rotting in the Wult dungeons.”
“I doubt he would throw me in the dungeons for leaving you. In all honesty, I believe he would reward me.”
Now he’d pushed too far. I’d had an ill feeling about this man from the moment I’d met him, and I would tolerate his superior attitude no more. I shoved him against the wall, pressing the weight of my body against him, making the stacks of skeletal remains rattle behind us.
“Enough,” I hissed. “I will not tolerate being spoken to in such a manner.”
Instead of shying away as I expected, he clamped my wrists in his hands. He used no magic, but the calculated look he gave me sent shivers down my spine. “And I,” he said, “will also not tolerate being spoken to in such a manner.”
Fear made my heart beat wildly. Who is this man? It was at that moment I realized how very little I knew about him. Where did he come from? Where did he live? Who were his kin? His gaze locked with mine, and sparks of purple danced in the gray of his irises. I knew he possessed magic, but he’d led me to believe his powers were limited. Had he lied?

When an Ivy League girl falls for a guy from the wrong side of the tracks, all the cards are stacked against them except one. Love refuses to die in Code Name: Forever & Ever.
Harvard graduate Margaret Stines rejects the job offered on a silver platter by her father. With a modeling contract in one hand and her possessions in the other, she leaves the neon lights of Glittertown for San Diego. She’d rather enlist in the Navy than marry the Hollywood wannabe executives her father brings home for dinner. A rebel at heart, Marg is seduced into the arms of a sailor. Only he’s the wrong one and when she meets his best friend Patrick Cobbs, she realizes her impetuous act will crucify her in his eyes.
Patrick is given one chance to leave the slums of San Diego to become a Navy SEAL. Recently graduated from BUD/S training, he and his swim buddy Thane Austen are infallible and cocky, certain they’ll earn their Tridents. While celebrating their success at St. George’s, Patrick meets Marg, but there’s no time to start a slow burn between them when the club goes up in flames. Worlds apart, Pat is the last guy Marg’s anti-military parents want for their daughter. With her grandfather’s name etched on the Wall of the Fallen, Marg’s father will do anything to keep them apart. Pat’s father’s a drunk; his family is poor. He has nothing to offer Marg except the man he wants to become. Only one person believes in them, and he’s dead.

Too Grand For Words
His Perfect Imperfection
This book travels from present day to the beginning of Cobbs and Thane’s career and friendship in the Navy SEALs. It’s also the love story of Marg Stines and Patrick Cobbs.
For me, this story had the feeling of The Notebook. We start with Patrick’s death and then Waters takes us back to Marg as a young woman defying her family’s wishes of a strategic wedding to live her dream of becoming a model.
Then she meets Patrick and knows he’s The One.
This is not a unicorns and rainbows kind of love story, it’s real, gritty, heartbreaking, and beautiful.
I give Code Name: Forever and Ever 5 lovely kisses- Highly recommended!
