My Review

This book travels from present day to the beginning of Cobbs and Thane’s career and friendship in the Navy SEALs. It’s also the love story of Marg Stines and Patrick Cobbs.

For me, this story had the feeling of The Notebook. We start with Patrick’s death and then Waters takes us back to Marg as a young woman defying her family’s wishes of a strategic wedding to live her dream of becoming a model.

Then she meets Patrick and knows he’s The One.

This is not a unicorns and rainbows kind of love story, it’s real, gritty, heartbreaking, and beautiful.
