In my mind’s eye, I could envision the crowds of people who would line up to partake of authentic Greek cuisine, unique to this part of the province.
The world creaked and tilted, but somehow her sister kept her upright. Lynea’s vision shrank to a pinhole, and then gradually reopened.
Her left hand was clenched tightly on the safety belt release, the right was fastened on the door latch, and bone shone white through her taut skin. Her eyes, though opened wide, were vacant and unseeing.
Whatever happened to him didn’t come from a small accident. This came from real trauma. I wasn’t offended by the sight because in my job I’d become numb to seeing the worst.
