“You could do both.” Not easy, but many of my former colleagues with children were able to balance family life with career advancement. This intrigues me. I love to read about how other people manage so much better than I do. I often feel like there is no balance, you either sacrifice your family for your career or you don’t advance. Maybe it is different in first world countries.

I agree, Robbie. It’s hard to do both and give equal priority. Unfortunately, in many cases it’s the children who suffer.
