      1. I used to devour her books. I think the reason I gravitate toward character-driven fiction is because of her. Think slow, southern charm with an ocean of deceit roiling underneath the veneer. Her work is wonderful.

      1. I used to live in Michigan, not far from Lake Erie. In fact, when I was growing up (in Pennsylvania), we took a vacation there with the WHOLE family (grandparents, cousins, the works). I have a novel set there, too. (I just need to publish it.) I love the area.
