A Magical Christmas

When a little girl goes missing, it takes faith, love, and the help of a Christmas angel to guide her to safety.

Excerpt

Madeline hugged the stallion’s thick neck and kept her eyes closed against the wind-whipped mane stinging her face like sharp little needles. The horse, sensing her urgency, flew over the uneven ground creating a brown blur.

Maddie strained her ears, but the distressing cries had gone unnervingly silent. “Hold on, child,” she whispered. “Just a little longer.”

Texas was a vast, unforgiving land if you weren’t prepared, never mind a youngster who’d wandered away from home. The parents must be frantic by now. The chill in the air didn’t bother Maddie in her spiritual form, but it could be dangerous for the kid. The sooner she found her the better.

The rattle of stones knocked loose beneath the beast’s hooves and the cold draft slapping her long gray hair around her head told Maddie they’d entered the keyhole canyon leading out of Hidden Valley. Moments later, they burst free and acres of hayfield lay before them. Finding one small child would be akin to searching for a needle in a haystack.

The stallion snorted, ears twitching back and forth as though listening for direction as well.

“Hello-o-o,” Maddie shouted, not at all sure her voice could be heard.

Nothing.

Nothing.
