I recently read a very disturbing statistic. It claims that in 2013 only five adults in the U.S. read a book. How can this be?

I grew up reading. It took me to faraway, wonderful lands on great adventures. And later it gave me a template for what I value in a relationship—yes I did hold out for the prince 🙂
I remember spending many a night when I should probably have been sleeping, right Mom <g>, tucked up in my cozy bed learning from those words.
It doesn’t matter what you read, fiction, non-fiction, children’s books, even magazines. You will still be learning, and that’s crucial.
I guess what I’m trying to say is that books are a fundamental part of our lives—don’t take them for granted.
