Island dreaming

Today was one of those beautiful days in the middle of winter that trick you into believing spring is right around the corner. Only now, in our new world, it’s not a trick.
My family has lived in the same small town for the past one hundred years. I thought that is where I would end my days, and I would have been okay with that, not happy but okay.
Instead a year ago my DH wakes up one morning, rolls over and says, “It’s time. I don’t want to work until I die without living our dream.” I know, isn’t he awesome!
So we sold our business, a landmark cafe that we owned and operated for the past thirteen years, our house of twelve years, most of our possessions and moved to beautiful Victoria, British Columbia.
And we couldn’t be happier, because home really is where the heart is.
