Ditched by her high school sweetheart, Callum Archer, on the night they’re supposed to elope, Jo Kendall casts out on her own, brokenhearted.

Over the years, Jo reels in a life she loves, centered on the outdoors, fishing (favoring a lucky wedding band lure), and her fine dining restaurant—a life that crashes away when her husband and business partner cheats her, leaving her bankrupt and alone.

Then her uncle dies, bequeathing Jo and her sister, Samantha, his rural property. Jo returns to Greenridge, determined to build a new business and permanent home—without the help of a man. Unfortunately Samantha wants her inheritance in cold, hard cash and hires a lawyer to get it for her, a lawyer who turns out to be none other than Jo’s long-lost love, Callum.

Jo’s fledgling plans—and her heart—are at risk once more.

If Jo can fight her insecurities, she might end up with a wedding band that doesn’t come with a sharp hook. But should she risk everything she’s worked for, yet again? Before she can decide, she needs to know: can a lost love truly be reclaimed?

She currently has six novels published through Winding Path Books:

Bigger Things, a standalone Women’s Fiction novel

The River’s Sigh B & B series (which can be read in any order, or even just as standalone stories, but really, isn’t it the most fun to start with book one?):

Wedding Bands (#1)
Hooked (#2)
Spoons (#3)
Hook, Line & Sinker (#4)
One to Keep (A River’s Sigh B & B novella)

Ev also writes under the pen name Toni Sheridan (The Present, and Drummer Boy, White Rose Publishing).

My Review

My favorite romances come with a second chance and a small town setting, so when I saw the cover for Wedding Bands and read the blurb I was hooked.

Jo is my kind of girl; she loves photography, fishing, good food, and her funny dog.

I’m not sure about Callum. He comes off as spoiled and indecisive though he’s a lawyer and should be anything but.

The cast of characters are interesting, each with their own agenda intent on keeping our couple apart.

I would have liked to see Callum become more assertive and fight for the woman he’s always loved. That said, I enjoyed the story, the author does a superb job of painting scenes and there’s enough emotional angst to keep this reader on the line.

I give Wedding Bands 4 lovely kisses
