#BookReview- The Country Guesthouse by Robyn Carr #WomensFic @RCarrWriter

New York Times bestselling author Robyn Carr delivers an emotional and triumphant novel about the fierce power of a mother’s love.

A summer rental, a new beginning…

Hannah Russell’s carefully crafted plans for her life have been upended without warning. When her best friend died suddenly, Hannah became guardian to a five-year-old named Noah. With no experience at motherhood, she’s terrified she’s not up to the challenge. She and Noah need time to get to know each other, so she decides to rent a country house with stunning views on a lake in rural Colorado.

When they arrive at the house, they are greeted by the owner, a handsome man who promises to stay out of their way. But his clumsy Great Dane, Romeo, has other ideas and Noah immediately bonds with the lovable dog. As Hannah learns to become a mother, Owen Abrams, who is recovering from his own grief, can’t help but be drawn out of his solitude by his guests.

But life throws more challenges at this unlikely trio and they are tested in ways they never thought possible. All three will discover their strengths and, despite their differences, they will fight to become a family. And the people of Sullivan’s Crossing will rally around them to offer all of the support they need.

My Review

Robyn Carr can write heartwarming stories that touch the heart!

When Hannah’s friend unexpectedly dies and leaves her as guardian to a young boy with disabilities, it brings about a cosmic change in her life.

Knowing they both need time away to recover from the loss and to become comfortable with each other, Hannah books a vacation in a remote cabin on a lake, but when they arrive it’s to find the owner ensconced in the barn.

Noah enjoys the solitude of his beautiful home when he’s not travelling as a professional photographer. He doesn’t mind renting the cabin out when he’s gone, though it can be inconvenient when his plans change. Like now.

He can’t help but like the engaging child who shows up on his doorstep, and his guardian… she’s pretty special, too.

Sullivan’s Crossing is portrayed as the perfect place to unwind from life’s hassles; the characters are engaging, the setting idyllic, there’s romance and a goofy Great Dane- what’s not to love?

I give The Country Guesthouse 4 lovely kisses- written like a warm breeze on a summer’s day; enjoyable!

  1. Jacquie I have seen many bloggers loving her books and now reading your review I think I should begin with this one as it has many of my favorite ingredients: orphan, disable or special kid, recluse man and…a Great Dane!

    1. Lol, I’m with you on the snakes! One time, when Mom and I went to church (I don’t think it was Sunday as the lot was empty) a GIANT Great Dane showed up out of nowhere and stared at us through the car windows- he was huge!
