Veronica Forand

VeronicaForand Bio Pic

A Bostonian by birth, Veronica Forand regrettably lost her Boston accent while moving from state to state and country to country. Cleveland probably had the most profound effect on her ability to pronounce the “r” in the word “park.”

She does try to return now and then to visit family and eat long neck clams and lobster. Summers on Cape Cod are also high on the priority list.

Her experience in crime involves time as a court appointed attorney. Eventually, she switched fields to where bigger crimes take place, corporate tax. The allure of spending mornings in her pajamas homeschooling her children and writing fascinating fiction caused her to change careers again. Now that the kids are out of the house (in school), she writes romantic thrillers by day and is the perfect wife and mother at night.

Her experience in romance is limited to one man. Luckily, he’s still finding ways to charm her by taking her on vacations to the south of France, Fiji, and the Green Mountains when time is short. Avid travelers, they love to roam with their kids across continents in pursuit of skiing, scuba diving, and the perfect piece of chocolate.

She’s lived in London, Paris, Geneva, Washington D.C., and the accent destroying city of Cleveland. She currently resides near Philadelphia.

Her books are published by Entangled Publishing, Boroughs Publishing Group, and The Wild Rose Press.

Marian Lanouette

Marian Lanouette

Marian born and raised in Brooklyn, New York is the seventh child of ten. At the age of sixteen her family moved from New York to New England. As a typical teenager, she felt her life was ruined and took to journalizing her feeling and this new life. The journal helped her realize how easily she had adapted to the change. Although, she did miss her cherished friends terribly; she’s thankful, they are still friends today. The four of them refer to each other as the cradle to the grave friends.

Unbeknown to her parents, at the age of five she started reading the New York Daily News story about the murdered nurses in Chicago and the investigation. Marian followed the story every day as authorities rushed to solve the brutal crime. It had caught her attention and her imagination. To this day she stills checks her closet before going to sleep. Marian thinks it was on that day the mystery lover was created.

At the age of eight she wrote every day, whether it be a poem, a short story or in her journal. An eighth grade assignment got her published. Though she failed the assignment, the nun was impressed with her poem. It was supposed to be a four line poem, but she couldn’t still her pen. The Beach her first official published work is still her favorite though much longer than four lines. It was the nun who submitted the poem for her to the local paper. Thus, the writer was born.

Marian’s first book If I Fail, A Jake Carrington Mystery will be released on September 7, 2012; and will be followed up in January 2013 with the second book in the series, Burn in Hell, A Jake Carrington Mystery. Each book’s a mystery with romantic elements, because to quote Marian, “Life is both mysterious and romantic.”

Marian resides in New England with her husband. Connect with Marian at

Jacqui Nelson

Jacqui Nelson

Jacqui was born and raised in Canada.
Her playground was a cattle ranch in northern Alberta.
So a love of Western books and movies came easily.

Since then, she’s lived in Edmonton, Calgary, Vancouver, and as far away as Germany and England. She’s contemplated careers in paleontology, computer programming and animation…two of which she pursued to employment.  Jacqui’s life in the country became a
distant (but much loved) memory.

One thing didn’t change. A love of books was a constant in her life. And when she decided to write her own books about the Old West…well, it was like coming home. Connect with Jacqui at

Pat Amsden

Pat Amsden is a writer of romance and mystery who lives on the West Coast of Canada. She lives with her son in Victoria, BC and works at the local hospital. She is, once again, single.

For as long as she can remember she has loved stories. First reading them and then making them up. Sometimes that got her into trouble when she was younger but that’s another story!

She studied journalism in college but got side-tracked raising a family and working a variety of other jobs to pay the bills. Writing fell by the way-side. The years went by and one day she decided to check out a local writer’s group.

There was a workshop with an exercise. Write something that had the hero and heroine meeting within the first page. Maybe there could even be a kiss! And don’t let the heroine get too comfortable. If she’s shy don’t have her go to the library and meet the librarian, get her out of her comfort zone. Maybe that could be in a bar. She decided, why stop there, let’s put the heroine on top of the bar! Many revisions later, the result is Lost In Vegas!

But none of this would have been possible without the support and encouragement of fellow writers. She benefitted from workshops such as Write On Vancouver with Michael Hauge and another with Jane Porter. Shirley Jump’s workshop was so good she immediately took another with her. Then she got the Deep Editing Lectures from Margie Lawson’s School of Writing and took Lisa Wells course on How To Create a Series. She pitched to editors and submitted manuscripts.
As she was doing this, however, several of her fellow writers decided to self-publish through Amazon. They are all doing well. More than one suggested she should try this route as did her son. So, here she is, feeling a lot like Sally Fields and hoping that ‘they like me, they really do!’ Connect with Pat at

Marsha R. West

Marsha R. West

Marsha’s favorite season is fall, and she’s never happier than when they travel to New England. They’ve been fortunate to visit many beautiful parts of the country, some of which find their way into her books.

She has two Works in Progress (WIP). ACT OF TRUST is Book 2 of the Second Chances Series, which she hopes to publish this fall. The other is Book 3 in the series, ACT OF BETRAYAL. Before that one is released, she’ll release THE THEATRE.

Marsha recently joined Sisters of Suspense, a blog made up of 16 authors all who write romantic suspense. Much fun. Connect with Marsha at

Kathryn Jane

Kathryn Jane

Award winning author, Kathryn Jane is known for rising to a challenge, whether it’s training for a pilot’s license, facing down cancer, training cantankerous horses or writing that first novel.

Her personal tales of adventure include momentarily misplacing a thoroughbred filly inside a 747 at thirty thousand feet, planning the evacuation of over fifty horses in the path of an approaching wildfire, and being volunteered to represent her peers in a public speaking venue.

In the novels she writes, Kathryn keeps her heroines busy surviving life threatening adventures, or soul searching personal journeys, while they are doggedly determined to not fall in love with men they really don’t need. Think modern-day white knights, and reluctant, self-sufficient damsels.

In spite of ridiculous odds, every story has a happy ending, with both halves of a couple coming to terms with love and all its complications.

Kathryn lives in a cozy cottage in the Pacific Northwest with a pair of tuxedo cats, and a faithful dog to keep the man of her dreams company as she writes page turning, steamy tales of love, mystery, and adventure. Connect with Kathryn at
